Your Privacy Controls
Public vs Private Entries
- Free Users: All entries are public and visible on your journal page
- Pro Users: You can set your entire account to private, or make individual entries private
- Private Entries: Only visible to you when signed in, not shown on your public journal page
Data Access
You can view, edit (within grace periods), or redact your entries at any time through your account dashboard.
Data Storage and Security
We implement security measures to protect your personal information and journal entries against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Your entries are stored securely and designed to be permanent as part of Write For Keeps' core philosophy.
Entry Permanence
Once the grace period expires (60 minutes for Free users, 24 hours for Pro users), entries become permanent:
- Free Users: Entries cannot be edited or deleted after the grace period
- Pro Users: Entries can be edited (marked as "Edited") or redacted (marked as "REDACTED") but remain in your timeline
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data and journal entries
- Correct inaccurate account information
- Request deletion of your account (subject to our permanence principles)
- Control privacy settings for your entries (Pro users)
- Contact us with privacy concerns
Third-Party Services
We use third-party services for payment processing, email delivery, and infrastructure. These services have their own privacy policies and are required to protect your information.
Children's Privacy
Write For Keeps is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
